Your support of KAAB is vital to the long term success of its effort. Even if you have never worked in the professional broadcasting industry, you can help. Alumni volunteers are neededin the following areas:

Broadcast Support:

Help KWSB students on a number of different levels if you’re currently involved in professional broadcasting or a closely-related profession, like audio production and copywriting to name a few.

Are you willing to critique air-checks? Can you provide constructive feedback on audio production? Do you have news gathering (and writing) tips that you would be willing to share with students? There are numerous examples, but you probably understand where we’re going with this request.

Bottom line – if you have professional experience that can be utilized by students, please respond (via e-mail: hilarie@kwsbalumni.org) with your name, title, employer, where you live and your specific broadcast expertise so we can add you to our roster of resources. When KWSB students ask for assistance in a certain area, KAAB will refer to our alumni resource roster and match him/her with the appropriate alumni.

In addition, if you would be willing to help students with internship placement, job placement or job application strategies, let us know. Your assistance in these areas would be greatly appreciated.

KWSB Alumni Network:

The overwhelming majority of KWSB alumni no longer work in professional broadcasting. It's safe to say that not every current and future KWSB student volunteer will pursue a professional broadcasting career, either.

Networking is perhaps the single most effective tool for landing jobs in today’s workforce. So KAAB is building a powerful alumni network to share with KWSB students. Please contact KAAB (via e-mail: hilarie@kwsbalumni.org) and provide us with your name, title, where you live and a brief description of your profession. It's that simple and only takes a minute!

If a KWSB student is interested in a similar career, we’ll contact you with a request to help that student, whether it is sharing your knowledge, advice or possible employment contacts.student managment at KWSB in the student recruitment process.
